Oh how wonderful it is to have two Valentines... Brad and Rowan. Actually two years ago this week we found out we were going to be parents. I will never forget that feeling... scared... followed by the most excited and happy I've ever been. Rowan is for sure my favorite valentines day gift!
Little Rowan is getting so big! He is sweet! He has a gentle nature, loving spirit and is passive. He is organized, thoughtful and calculated about every move (he is Brads child!). He is playful ,entergetic at the start of every day, he is always interested and wanting to learn how different things work... figuring out a new wheel, button or toy. He's agreeable and doesn't mind trying new things and new foods! He however doesn't like to be anywhere without me! I know my boy! Every single hair on his head! It's a constant reminder of how much God love me and how amazing it is that He can love Rowan more than I love Rowan!
New things are happening every day. Here are some of his lattest...
1) When we watch Sesame Street... Rowan can actually do some of the same dances as they are doing. I don't know if that means we are watching too much TV... but it's cute!
2) One of our favorite games since he has started walking is "peek-a-boo" around the corners and doors of rooms. We jump out and surprise him and say "peek-a-boo". Anyway usually he just laughs and keeps running but recently he has started running into rooms and hiding and HE waits to scare me! And honestly he's really surprised me a time or two.
3) He has picked up on his cousin Kurt's secret language and it cracks us up. He's got the good-t0-go down pat! Kurt would be so proud!
4) He can now do all the actions to "If you're Happy and you Know it..." clapping...stomping feet... and Amen (which is his favorite)
5) If you ever see him back into a corner you know he is going #2... he just likes his privacy
6) When he rides his toy horse (which is actually a zebra) we have taught him to say "yehaw"... well it sounds like "ha ha"
7) Sometimes he will sit at his table for a good 30 mintues or more and read his books
8) His new thing is looking at pictures and we will say "point to Kurt" or "point to Rocky" or "point to Mimi" etc... and he does! It's cute... I will post pictures of that below.
9) He has a Jack-in-the-box that he got for Christmas and he gets a big kick out of it. He doesn't really understand how to make it pop out but sometimes I'll see him sitting in the floor holding it and laughing as if it might just pop out at any moment. It's so funny!
10) He always gives Elmo kisses on the TV! I mean ALWAYS... it's constant if Elmo is on the screan. Wont give me kisses... but Elmo can be sure to always get one!
11) He loves to get all of his trucks/cars/trains well anything with wheels and take them ALL over to the wood floor to play with them. He has to get them all over there before he will start playing with them. He's so smart and like his daddy... everything has to be in order and organized before anything fun happens! Brad can't wait to get him hotwheels and matchbox cars so they can both play with them.
12) If he ever sees anything else on TV besides his Elmo video he goes over and turns on the VCR (It's just one button that turns it on)... sometiems he will just leave the room... I guess it makes him feel better that it's on. But I can never watch anything I want to because he gets really mad. Sometimes I'll get onto him and tell him "NO, don't touch the VCR!" So h finds another way he'll grab the remote and point it to the TV like he's trying to turn it on the way. He'll usually mumble something and shoot me a hatefull look then throw himself on the floor because it doesn't come on. It's all funny really!
13) Whenever I ask him ANYTHING he shakes his head no. It makes me laugh
14) He hasn't been feeling great the last few days so he has just been letting me hold him. Which I LOVE! I've been tickleing his back a lot trying to make him feel better and also trying to hold him longer. He has been loving it. When I stop he grabs my hand to tickle some more! So sweet!
I'm sure there are more funny things... can't think of them right now.
Well we spent the weekend in Little Rock. One of Brads really good friends Taylor was getting married and Brad was in it. We had a good time catching up with everyone. It's nice to have weddings to go to every now and then so we get to see old friends. We also stayed with Brad's sister and it was good to see them too. Jennifer kept Rowan on Friday night while we went to the rehersal dinner. I guess Rowan and Avery were in her room playing for a bit and Avery moved on and left Rowan in there by himself. Jennifer said she realized she hadn't heard him for a while so she went to check on him. Anyway, he was so tired his was leaning against Avery's be standing up and asleep. How cute is that?
Anyway, we are staying home tonight and I'm going to enjoy my Valentines boys!
